What is there to do at the o2 arena?

Hi,

DD is performing at the o2 soon. We will all be travelling down by coach and will probably arrive about 11.30am.

Dd will spend the day with her dance team rehearsing etc, me dh and teen ds will have to find something to do until about 6.30pm when the show starts.

I've looked on the website and it looks likes there's bowling and a cinema. also looked at the climb over the top of the o2 but it's quite expensive, is it worth it?

Is there anything else to do there?

If you don’t have to stay in the venue then I’d suggest going into Greenwich to explore. You could visit the market or the Cutty Sark, the fan museum, the royal observatory. Endless adventures!

Indeed, Greenwich is a great place to visit, I don't live far from there.

The O2 has lots of good venues, beautiful restaurants including one Brazilian which I like very much. Hope your seats are good though, there are some staggered ones which go high up and not good for 'vertigo'.

Exciting for you to see your girl play there. My son has.

You could do a walk along the river to Greenwich - about 40 minute stroll (or get the river boat, one stop from the O2). Also buses will take you to Greenwich - 188/129 in 10 minutes. Lots of restaurants/Greenwich Park and the Observatory. The Maritime Museum is interesting and free. Give yourself an hour to get back and to your seat from Greenwich. If you want a view, five minutes walk away is the (Intercontinental) Hotel (I think it's called). There is a bar right at the top with amazing views (not cheap for a drink though!).

Don't hang around the O2 - you can go to the pictures anytime and the restaurants are the usual boring chains.

Yes get the hell out of the O2. It’s all plastic food and fakery. Visiting Greenwich is a good suggestion.

Hey there, Juicyfrooty, I suspect my dd is performing at the same event (Sunday night?).

We're going to the Greenwich Observatory and planetarium and will maybe take a Greenwich-Westminster-Greenwich boat trip too, depending on the weather.

formerbabe · 12/11/2018 16:59

The cable car is near the O2...you could take a trip on that.

dottyaboutstripes · 12/11/2018 17:03

There's outlet shopping at the O2 (brand new just opened) where you could kill time for a short while

Juicyfrooty · 12/11/2018 17:43

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like a trip into Greenwich is our best bet.

It's DS who's going to be hardest to keep occupied. He finds anything not involving his xbox boring!

Ah no, ours is this w/e. Sounds similar though, as it is the Indigo and involves dance.

Good luck to your dd and hope you have fun too.
