Dishwasher Finish Rinse Aid questions

I've just bought Finish Rinse Aid but none of the instructions are in English! How much of the bottle do I pour in as I've never used it before? Also, do you think it makes an obvious difference and is their an alternative less chemically option as it smells quite strong? TIA

Thank you @Borntobeamum, it must be the compartment that has a twisty lid near to the salt drum as I can't think what else it's for?

No, no, no! I suspect that's the drain. You'll be wasting a heck of a lot of rinse aid!

My dishwasher has a double compartment in the door - 1 side is for the powder/tablet and the other side is for rinse aid.

Have you got a manual for your dishwasher, or could you download one?

@Gazelda thank you, our manual has gone awol but yes I can probably download one for future reference. I'm glad you said that about the compartment being in the door beside the tablet one as I've just looked and there it is with another twisty lid! All dishwashers must have a similar set up then! Do you add rinse aid for every use then which is daily in our house?

Also I saw another in the supermarket today that said it was for making your glasses shiny so maybe that's another compartment that I've never used!!

You should be able to fill the compartment now (mine takes about 1/3 of the bottle) and then the dishwasher will release the right amount on each wash until it's empty, at which point a warning light comes on telling you to refill it again. I have to refill rinse aid roughly every 2 months.
