DD Party

DD is turning 8 in a few weeks. She wants a sleepover instead of a party. She has had 3 school friends that have been quite close since reception. However this year the school changed their class system and she was moved away from her friends into a year 3/4 class, her friends stayed together in another class. She has told me she's doesn't feel as close to these girls anymore but is now good friends with a couple of girls in her new class.

We can only have 3 children for a sleepover because we don't have the room for any more than that.

DD wants to invite her new friends plus one girl I've never heard of. I want her to invite her older friends because I think it's important she learns to maintain friendships.

The other option is she doesn't have a sleepover and I take them all to the cinema or something.

WWYD?

Give her those options and let her decide.

Best to include all friends, the more the merrier! Cinema and food.

Let her decide what she wants to do. You can’t really teach her about friendship based on what you think is best, she needs to figure things out herself.
