Banged my knee really hard earlier so why does my hip hurt?

I can walk and everything....it's swollen (my knee) but I can walk. My hip hurts though...weird.

It's referred pain. Very common and normal!

Your femur may be a tiny bit out of line due to the swelling in the knee, your body is not used to it so you are in pain.

Probably because you’re guarding your painful knee as you walk which is putting your hip in a slightly unnatural position.
