Can we freeze this? Don't laugh

Ok so don't laugh. We've just got a takeaway from a restaurant. Dh obviously wasn't clear when he was ordering and ordered the five rices we wanted and then said satay sauce so they've given us five large sauces. I'm in hysterics but being practical it was his fault so don't think we can really bring it back so do you think it would be ok to freeze? It's just sauce as my sister wanted it on the side. She just didn't want five lol

I wouldn't. Sounds like a recipe for food poisoning.

DramaAlpaca · 10/11/2018 19:01

I would.

SilverGiraffe7 · 10/11/2018 19:01

I totally would. If you would freeze your own homemade sauce, I can't see why sauce from a restaurant couldn't be frozen if it's put in a suitable container.

KarrisWhiteOak · 10/11/2018 19:02

I’d not simply because you don’t know if it’s greasy or been frozen and cooked again for you.

KarrisWhiteOak · 10/11/2018 19:03

Tut greasy! I meant fresh.

BloodyBosch · 10/11/2018 19:05

Call the restaurant and ask them

Stephisaur · 10/11/2018 19:13

I would freeze sauce.

Although, I could probably just eat 5 portions of satay sauce 😂 it’s my favourite!

BarbaraofSevillle · 10/11/2018 19:18

I would freeze sauce and not care whether or not it had been previously frozen. I refreeze things all the time and it's never done me any harm.

IRememberSoIDo · 10/11/2018 19:18

@Stephisaur come on over we're struggling lol! Yeah I was a bit worried it might be greasy. Might just refrigerate overnight and have a massive satay chicken for Sunday dinner

Yes you can, it will be fine.

Stephisaur · 10/11/2018 19:21

@IRememberSoIDo just give everyone a pot to dip their prawn crackers in. You’ll never look back!

lazymare · 10/11/2018 19:23

Of course.

maddiemookins16mum · 10/11/2018 19:30

Yep (but if you fancy dropping one round that’d be nice).

IRememberSoIDo · 10/11/2018 19:31

Poor dh, even the kids are taking the piss asking if there's any satay sauce left lol

Back in the 80's my parents used to order an extra pot of sweet & sour sauce, freeze it and then give it to us kids poured over pork or chicken for dinner (served with Uncle Ben's and frozen veg Grin)
