Improving health after flu

I've had a nasty dose of the flu and I am feeling run down. What can I do to improve my health after illness? I'm generally feeling a bit weak (I'm still ill really) and exhausted.

No cod liver oil please, which is what my grandmother would have recommended.

Can barely walk upstairs, check.
Just did the (very short and easy) school run to test myself, could barely talk on the way back, had to walk like an old lady. Now drenched in sweat and coughing so much I nearly wet myself. But nice with some fresh air and sun!

I am feeling a little better after my first night's sleep without waking up with a hacking cough. Sleep makes such a difference. My body still aches though.

I think I am finally on the mend.

I was not planning getting my gym kit on. by exercise I meant a gentle stroll in the sunshine, literally around the block.

I had flu earlier this year. Sleep, rest and eating well was good for me and I agree that a slow stroll round the block in the sun is good. I think mentally it’s a really good thing to do but take it really easy

Turns out I have also tested positive for campbyloacter. Blimey!

Must have had that combined with a lurgy. No wonder I felt rough.
