What can't you do that most people can?

My son has just started cubs and got his new uniform plus a load of badges to sew on. I was given them and asked for them to be on for Sunday's remembrance service. I thought fair enough i sewed a cushoin at school once went and bought some thread and needle and have now been sitting here for 2hours and have taken the first one off 4 times as it's either wonky or looks shit. Blush

So what average things can't you do?

I can't use lighters. I tried lighting a candle with one in a power cut when I was a teenager and burned my thumb. So I sat in the dark until mum came home and got the candles lit!

Tie a tie.
Bite sellotape
Blow up a balloon
Cook according to my children as well.

citiesofbismuth · 10/11/2018 13:00

I can't work televisions.

cricketmum84 · 10/11/2018 13:00

@yawning801 I used to work in a place that made envelopes. There was an old folklore tale that one of the women on the shop floor had cut her tongue in an envelope after licking it and ended up with insect eggs in her tongue.

I haven't licked an envelope since!

maggienolia · 10/11/2018 13:51

Can't ride a bike, ice skate or mount a horse.
I can roll my tongue lengthways though.

curiousthing · 10/11/2018 13:52

Blow my nose

AfterSchoolWorry · 10/11/2018 13:53

I can't feel my pulse. Wrists and necks disgust me!

Sarcelle · 10/11/2018 18:54

I can't flick a lighter, or strike a match either.

Myusernameisunique · 10/11/2018 19:02

Ride a bike although I do 4/5 spin classes a week Blush.
Tell my left from right without checking.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 10/11/2018 19:04

Click my fingers, blow up a balloon, whistle, blow up chewing gum or made it click.

GiantBabyMumma · 10/11/2018 19:09

toolazytothinkofausername · 10/11/2018 19:21

I can't click my fingers :(

Acidrain · 10/11/2018 19:21

I can't drive and don't want to.

Off topic but for your sewing, try wonder web, works wonders on rainbows badges!

MadMadamMim123 · 10/11/2018 19:23

Stop eating when I'm full Sad

thighofrelief · 10/11/2018 19:27

clinky I'm exactly the same! It's all just a panicky noise, have found out that my mum and hairdresser are the same. We also all have weird memories where if a casual acquaintance tells me their middle name or their father's job we will remember forever, see the person 20 years later and remember.

But spoken instructions? Forget it, please give me the text book and a quiet room instead.

easterholidays · 10/11/2018 20:21

I can't open up the flimsy carrier bags you get in supermarkets. On the rare occasions I forget to take a shopping bag with me and I have to use a 5p one I stand there battering incompetently away at the edge of the bag trying to peel apart the two sides while the rest of the queue glares at me with a combination of incredulity and increasing impatience. There must be a knack, but I don't have it!

loz12345 · 10/11/2018 20:29

Drive - 10 failed tests and gave it up, I can’t ride a bike either 😂.

I also struggle with working doors we went away last weekend and stayed somewhere that had a door where you entered a code and then twisted the handle to open for four days I had to make sure when I went anywhere I took ds who is 8 so he could do it for me, I didn’t want dh to know I couldn’t do it because as soon as he saw it he laughed at me 😂🙄

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 10/11/2018 20:42

Burp, swim, drive, knit.

ClinkyMonkey · 10/11/2018 21:36

Glad I'm not the only one thigh🙂.

Graphista · 10/11/2018 22:15

Make-up - dd does AMAZING make up even Halloween and special effects stuff entirely self taught/lots of practice - me I'm 46 and can BARELY apply mascara! Eyeliner? No chance! Each eye looks ok but they don't match, one will be thick and one thin and I can't get it to match!

Kezzie200 · 10/11/2018 22:30

Socialise

MamaLovesMango · 10/11/2018 22:35

Loads.

I have Dyscalculia too. I can pretty much add up now after teaching myself my own ways but anything other than that, forget it.

I struggle with driving and I try to avoid it wherever possible. I often wonder if I’m dyspraxic.

BikeRunSki · 11/11/2018 00:12

Oh yes. Make up.
