Tailgated by boy racer....then....karma?

Tonight I was driving home from work and was severely tail gated by an idiot in a fiesta. We are talking bending country roads with blind corners and tight bends. This guy was so close that I was scared he was going to hit me. I couldn't pull over at any point as there was no safe place for overtaking anyway. Eventually we come to a stretch and I let him past.
A few minutes later I see hazard lights up ahead. The idiot had tried to overtake on a blind corner and had to swerve out of the way of a poor lady who was shaking like a leaf. Boy racer idiot was 30ft into a field with the entire back end of his car off. He wasn't badly hurt.
Is it wrong that I was slightly smug that he came to such an accident. He could have killed someone so I can only hope he is off the road for some time.

Hopefully he'll have learnt an important lesson- when something similar happened to me they promptly spun out, hit a wall and the 2 teenagers were killed instantly.

I was once cat called by a car full of twats speeding past me. As they got further up the road their exhaust fell off and they had to all get out the car and look sheepishly at it while I laughed and laughed. It’s lucky noone was hurt OP but yes karma feels good.

Duchess - funny! Such over the top do-goodering that you’d actually rather a driver like this didn’t learn his lesson in an incident where no one was hurt Grin

DH is a bit Batman of the Road when he drives and I go bezerk at him. We were driving down to see friends in London not long ago and a complete bellend on the M1 was weaving all over the place a few cars behind us. I reminded DH that as we had the DC in the car it wasn't the place for him to become Batman. He laughed and left it, pulling in when the bellend got near.

About 10 minutes later traffic came to a complete halt as there'd been a huge smash - the bellend weaving in and out of traffic had smashed himself and three other cars up and the road was destroyed. It was terrifying to see that one stupid driver could cause so much damage to so many people. Whilst I wouldn't ever take pleasure in someone's crash, sometimes people like that need a harsh reminder of how dangerous their actions are.

I'm learning to drive. Tailgaters terrify me. I'm still working out what I'm doing and while I'm apparently doing okay, it worries me what happens if I ever pass my test and I'm not in a car with 'LEARNER' written all over it. I regularly have to stop suddenly with idiots pulling out in front of me, kids, sudden motorbikes etc and apparently that is normal driving.

An accident where no-one was badly hurt will hopefully be enough of a shock to re-set driving behaviour. I don't want to wish pain on anyone, but if you are driving in a car you are manipulating a tonne or so of metal at speed and you can do a lot of damage if you get it wrong.

I have messaged the local police force. More than happy to state that he tried to overtake me on a blind corner minutes before.
I frequently see this type of driving by the way... not always boy racers...often older men in fast cars. The number of times I've seen them overtake a tractor when they couldn't possibly see if there was anything coming is terrifying.

I had a little 1.25 Ford Fiesta when I first learned to drive. I loved it, but it was not the quickest accelerating. I was tailgated aggressively and then overtaken at great speed once by a load of young lads in a souped up Nissan Micra. They proceeded to spin it out at the next roundabout, hit the central reservation and completely smash their car up. They were absolutely fine, but I'll admit I laughed a bit as I passed them all sheepishly pushing their broken car off the roundabout in the pissing rain.

If people drive like idiots I'm afraid I have no sympathy for them, just anyone else caught up in the messes they create. Just glad this guy didn't hurt anyone else.
