My son has some mild atypical speech disfluencies, we've been waiting to see a specialist for some time. I want to get the ball rolling with ways I might be able to help him, or just understanding more about it really. Thanks

Maybe there are some Facebook groups or similar?

Have a look at the Ican and Afasic websites.

Hi there - I'm a SLT. The British stammering association website (www.stammering.org) is brilliant - really good, trustworthy information. Also FYI- If your local trust waiting list is long, and you are interested in private therapy, go to helpwithtalking.com- it's the website for the association of SLTs who do private work. Good luck!
