Gah.

Cat pee on beige carpet. How do I get it out?

I use biological washing powder high concentration. Hot water, soak and scrub.

You can use water and white vinegar. Then bicarbonate sprinkled on when dry then hoover up.

If it's still wet out lots of kitchen roll on it then something heavy on top to suck up as much pee as possible first.

And then the scrubbing with detergent and water?

If you can pull back the carpet as well and scrub/soak the floorboards in the washing powder water. It needs to be biological to break down the enzymes and stop the cat returning to wee again. So you need to get the smell out otherwise you’ll have a reoccurring issue. Otherwise I’m afraid it’s goodbye carpet time.

My cat weed massively today on the carpet out of fear so I’m with you on this one!

I’ve tried with the washing powder but I can still see the yellow bit of wee. Can’t pull up carpet. Also in a rented house 😱

Is it an old stain?

Can you try very mild bleach?

Are you trying to get the smell or the stain out?

trytrytrytry · 09/11/2018 21:20

It’s from today. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try bleach. Trying to get out the stain mainly.

Whenever my cat has weed it doesn’t show in the carpet, but stinks.

Let it dry out and see what it’s like when you hoover.

You can get vanish carpet cleaner foam that you spray on and leave to dry, but I haven’t had much luck with it.

Rugdoctor urine eliminator. Spray it on, agitate it into the carpet, i use fingers, cover with a cloth, gone next morning. Absolutely brilliant, about a fiver. Tesco, Sainsburys, most big supermarkets have it.

I use a special odour and stain removing spray on my beige carpet when my cat pukes on it. It works really well. Think I got it from the pet dept at wilko

A specific enzyme cleaner. As well as getting rid of the smell I've always found it removes that yellowish need as well. The one I have is simple solution, pets at home sell it in a blueish spray bottle.
