Just discovered friend has been dumped by text less than a week before not only her birthday but a trip abroad with him that is now not happening.
Friend has had a awful year with trying to divorce her ex/fight for custody and this was going to be her first weekend away without kids since it all went down. With this on top she is so down.
What can I do to try to make her birthday special? It's only a week away and lots of her friends are busy next weekend. I happen to be free but I was hoping to include more people.
We are all counting the pennies this close to Christmas so do any wise mumsnetters have any suggestions of not expensive but special days out/weekends away etc. We go out for dinner often so I wanted something more special than that. We are a few miles north of London.
