No but we’re considering them. A friend of ours runs a stone company and advised against them because they can crack but surely not everyone who has concrete worktops has cracks?!

At work we have something called micro concrete and this can be used over other materials to look like concrete. I’m really considering this. It looks fab in floors and walls too. I found this via a quick google www.mortiseconcrete.co.uk/microconcrete

Now what I would really love is terrazzo but it’s pretty expensive.

From the description of the microconcrete, it sounds just like regular concrete but with a fancy name that they hope you pay extra for. The thing about covering something in concrete tho, is if it ever cracks then just trowel another thin layer into and over the crack.

I've made several projects with concrete and it's really easy to work with once you get hang of it. Make some planters for greenery first and see for yourself!

You can also add pigment to it, for any color you want, doesn't have to be grey. And stamp or carve a pattern on it. Concrete is really versatile.

Is concrete for worktops or islands hideously expensive?!
