Irrational Fears

As I stood, awkwardly, in the kitchen, I started thinking about whether anyone else shared my irrational fear.

My kitchen related irrational fear is to do with the washing machine. The spin cycle is quite violent and my fear is that one day I will be standing in front of the washing machine door as it enters the final aggressive spin of the cycle and the door blows off, taking a leg with it. I know this is unlikely in the extreme, but I can't help it. I also keep the kids away from the door at Final Aggressive Spin time. It's not debilitating, I still wash clothes. But try very hard not to stand in front of the door if I'm doing something else in the kitchen.

Anyone else?

(I also very scared of moths. But I believe that one to be rational due to the fact they are horrible papery things)

Mice, they’re more frightened of us. Why are we all so scared of them.

Crane flies. The ones like flaying daddy long leg's. I literally run out of the room if one comes in. Something about them just makes me want to be as far away from them as possible and if one were to touch me I'd probably squeal Yet they're fragile, useless, pointless things, much like moths. They can't hurt me or certainly anything else and I know it. I'm not even sure they have a mouth?!

P.s. I'm also perturbed by my washing machines violent final spin cycle (I turn it down!) but I love mice and all other rodents. Maybe mice are still seen as disease carriers by many?

It’s those little beady eyes and those tails. I can’t believe i actually had one as a pet when i was a kid.

I hate seeing mice move. Their little feet creep me out. And the urinating over everything. That the mice do, not that I do.

i have a fear of using pubic bathrooms alone. its stupid and no one knows about it.

@ihopeyouwitchesareready I think that one is quite rational, they make me nervous too.

Spiders. A stupid fear in this county where they are very unlikely to be able to hurt me, but I run away screaming. I had to send a child into a store cupboard for me recently because I was so scared there MIGHT be an eight legged freak in there

Ok, this is going to sound quite odd and I recommend not reading on if you're squeamish!

I have this strange irrational fear that I'm going to accidentally slice my eyeball with my 3-blade Venus razor! I don't know how it could even happen but I'm always very careful to keep it far from my face just in case and make sure I don't fall onto it in the shower

Do I need help?

I work next to an airport and on the way to work I can see planes taking off. I'm afraid that if I keep looking at them they'll flip and fall down.

Crabs. I'm scared of spiders too and to me, crabs look too much like big armour plated spiders! In both cases it's something about the legs that freaks me out so much

Dying. It is shit I am constantly
Reassuring myself I won't die,
I won't kill myself even though I don't want too, it's just a phobia I have ever since I read an article on a girl from love island ending her life.
Was completely fine until I read that it's very strange. I then have a fear that what if I become depressed and it happens? It honestly upsets me so much and bothers me. BUT I have no intention of dying and I'm scared about it all, yet my brain doesn't seem to accept it's irrational.

Mines the microwave! I put my food in then run out of the room until it beeps because I am petrified it's going to blow up and kill me
