Cold bedroom

I like to air out our bedroom during the day. Since the weather turned colder I keep the outside shutters down and just open them a couple of inches at the bottom then open the bedroom window the tiniest crack. I do this at 7.40/45am right before I leave for work. As soon as I get home from work I close the window and the blind fully; that's usually at 6.20/30pm. However, when we go to bed around midnight the bedroom still feels very cold and sometimes the bedclothes feel chilly from the air that's circulated around the room during the day.

Any suggestions for airing the room a little but not lowering the temperature so dramatically?

I can't help as I love a cold bedroom. In the summer I yearn for the coolness of a winter bedroom. Tbh I think what you're doing already is enough. Maybe get an electric top blanket or bottom one and set the timer for maybe 20 mins before bed.

Do you keep your door shut? I keep mine shut to stop the cats pooping on my bed Angry so it doesn't get any heat from the rest of the house and its ffffffrrrrrreeeeeezzzzing in there at night! But when I put the radiator on its too hot Grin so I can't win.

Don't leave the window open all day seems the obvious answer Confused

I like an aired bedroom too, but I have the window open overnight and shut during the day.

I think just having it open for a short while would be enough though.

Ohh I love a cold bedroom! Makes the bed more snuggly! Grin

Air the bedroom as soon as you wake up then close when you leave for work. (I do have a shower and get dressed in the bathroom so this works for me)

Or embrace the cold bedroom and get a nice heavy blanket. I love cold bedrooms - I turn the radiators down at night!

Can't help with the chilly bedroom but I've just bought a heated mattress protector thing that I turn on about an hour before I go to bed and it heats all the mattress and duvet. No more getting into a cold bed.

Thanks. Electric blanket or mattress warmer seems the way to go.
