I need a robot that can be coded to do stuff - but there is so much choice out there, prices vary hugely, I'm not tecchy enough to understand any of it and after an hour of browsing the internet I'm even more confused.

Help me!!!!

BBC micro bit is used in lots of schools, usually secondary but if the kid is keen and interested it would suit younger. I'm getting my 9yo dd one for Xmas.

The lego boost coding is quite simplistic and quite childish, my 7yr old is not impressed compared to the scratch stuff on code etc. But it does depend on what he wants to do with the robot.

But it is a good piece of kit, possibly available for under 100 in the black Friday stuff as it's often discounted
