How do I make this recipe coeliac friendly?

I've read up as much as I can and I believe all I need to do is swap the linguine for a GF version? I've never cooked for coeliac before and want to be sure. Thank you

I’m a Coeliac. Gluten free spaghetti instead of linguine, check chorizo and any spices to make sure there is no wheat, barley or gluten listed in the ingredients. Be careful with utensils, so don’t use the same serving spoon for the regular linguine and then touch the gluten free spaghetti as the spaghetti would then be cross contaminated and us Coeliacs can become very ill. Thanks for being so considerate! I’ve never had a meal at someone’s house since diagnosis!

@ShadyLady53 Not going to risk making two dishes so we're all just going to eat GF so no risk of cross contamination. Is GF linguine not a thing? Only spaghetti? Thank you so much for the advice!

Yes, just change the linguini for GF spaghetti or tagliatelle (you need to watch it like a hawk when cooking as it goes from al dente to mush in a flash) and check the chorizo ingredients. Chorizo is usually GF, but you never know!

Yes, the Tesco GF tagliatelle is nice too - I had it last night

MamaLovesMango · 08/11/2018 09:10

Check the chorizo is GF. Sounds silly but sometimes things like that will have bulking or binders that contain gluten.

Yep definitely all fine - what a good person you are, can we all come for dinner? 😂

I found barilla gluten free linguine in a Sainsburys they other day. The choice is constantly getting better.

Looks lovely! Just one more thing to add, if you can avoid using wooden chopping boards or spoons that would be best, we were told to throw all of ours away when OH was diagnosed as they can't be cleaned thoroughly enough so may be a cross contamination point.

moonlitt · 09/11/2018 19:02

Just to let you all know it was delicious, went down a treat and no allergic reactions! Yay!
