I was asked if I wanted a plaster but declined. It was sore and swollen for a few days but no other ill effects.

LittleBookofCalm · 08/11/2018 07:37

i turned down the previously offered one a month ago because they said a side effect might be a headache, and i didnt want a headache.
no side effects at all, apart from a slightly tender area

wish i had a sticker for being brave though! Grin

I didn't get a sticker! 😭

All i got was a slightly swollen and sore area for a few days and slight cold symptoms the next day, my doctors ate mean ☹️

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 08/11/2018 07:44

Our surgery don’t seem to do plasters. Normally just a piece of cotton wool with some tape stuck over the top.

I want a sticker though.

ShatnersBassoon · 08/11/2018 07:44

Mine felt like it was swollen, but it wasn't. It had a bit of a bruised feeling for a couple of days, but no other reaction.

little0miss0mac · 08/11/2018 07:47

I had mine done at work in Tues and now have a big red itchy patch half the width of my arm. Need to compare notes at work to see if this is normal!

RosieAndJimDoTheOldRagDoll · 08/11/2018 07:48

I didn't get a sticker, it was given to ds as he cried HmmGrin

SuperstarDJ · 08/11/2018 07:48

I had a red itchy patch for a few days too littlemiss’ though it wasn’t huge. Slightly higher than a 50p coin maybe.

LittleBookofCalm · 08/11/2018 07:52

bless your ds @rosieandjim Grin

I had an achy arm and it was very hot to the touch for a day or so. The nurse told me this year's vaccine was stronger because last year's flu was worse than usual.

MadisonAvenue · 08/11/2018 08:03

I didn’t get a plaster! I didn’t even get a piece of cotton wool stuck on with micropore Sad

My arm felt a bit bruised around the site a few hours later and into the next day and that was it. I was expecting worse as I usually have a heavy achey arm for a few days afterwards and commented to the nurse about it when I went the following week for my pneumonia booster and she said that she hoped it’ll be effective seeing as it hadn’t really affected me so much. I didn’t think much of what she said at the time but started worrying later.

TheCatWhisperer · 08/11/2018 08:05

Had mine last night. Arm's a bit sore and warm this morning, like I've been punched. I was very impressed with the pharmacists technique, never even felt the injection.

GoldenHoops · 08/11/2018 08:07

No plaster
No gauze with a bit of micropore
No sticker
BUT
I did get a tube of smarties😁😁

Sicario · 08/11/2018 08:07

Stickers? Plasters? I feel utterly cheated. All I got was swollen hurty arm for 24 hours.

LittleBookofCalm · 08/11/2018 08:12

Smarties! Grin

Madison, a sore arm is all I got last year. I'm fairly certain the jab was effective as I'm one of the few people who didn't get the flu when it went round work in January. And I spent at least 1 day working in very close contact with 2 people who were coming down with it.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 08/11/2018 09:08

I would be overjoyed to get a sticker!!
I must patrol about town to see who is doing it this year, my usual place has lost their permanent pharmacist, so don't know when they will be doing it, and I won't go to Boots as they are twats.

Previous years I have just had a red bump/achey arm. AND I am sure if I had a sticker that wouldn't have happened.

CoodleMoodle · 08/11/2018 09:13

The last time I had an injection - probably when I was pregnant with DS - the nurse gave DD a sticker! "For being such a brave girl and holding Mummy's hand!" (And she wouldn't share... Grin)

RosieAndJimDoTheOldRagDoll · 08/11/2018 11:51

Don't bless him @LittleBookofCalm! He pulled the same stunt this morning when I had my bloods taken and got chocolate! I got nuffin! Lil stinker.

Also... Smarties ShockShock snot fair!!
