If I had an expired cheque from a bank. Would they honour it, if it was re-presented?

Is the bank the signatory?

Yes, they closed our accounts, plus the children's accounts during a dispute. We were in a pickle at the time, and didn't organise children's accounts in a timely fashion. Now the children have accounts, are they obliged to re-issue the cheques?

If you go back to the bank they will reissue the cheques don't forgot to take some identification with you.

Yes, they should re-issue them on request. The unclaimed funds will be in a holding account. If you have a branch you can get to, I would take the cheques in - it might be that they will be able to release the funds using the expired cheques, but it will depend on their internal procedures.
