Help me solve a mystery- who gets the family bible?

My wonderful grandmother passed away and I have what was always referred to as the family bible. However, it turns out it’s not, there’s a name in it no one has heard of. Aside from a 20 minute google and forking out for an ancestry subscription, where would you start with solving this?
