Than the house in Home Alone 1/2.

Everytime I watch the films I fall in love with the house over and over. It’s so lovely and big and Christmassy!

So is there a better house??

the answer is no

I like the house in The Spiderwick Chronicles. All storybook gothic like.

DianaPrincessofThorns - I was just thinking about building some of these in the Sims! I'm always looking for interesting houses to build! And yy to FrankieandGrace's house! I had a bash at the townhouse from Peaky Blinders, and I've also built Snow's house from OUAT (Long time ago!) and the prison from OITNB, but not really any film/tv houses that I've particularly wanted to live in myself. Until NOW!

Gaaah, came on to say the aunts house in Practical Magic, but have been trumped!
The Weasley House (with magic included) would also be fab.

I love the Murder House in Season 1 of American horror story and The coven house (Miss Robichauxs academy) in s3. You can rent the latter if you have some serious $$$ going spare.

Our first house that we bought just before we got married was actually used in a film a few years before we bought it. It was an Edwardian terrace in West London, and was used along with three other neighbouring houses in the Beatles film Help.
And a friend's daughter has an amazing Arts and Crafts house that was also used as a film set a year or so ago.

The house from the Twilight films

When I was a young teen I dreamt of living at South Fork it seemed so glamorous to me and I always wanted to eat breakfast on the terrace and look like Victoria Principle!

I used to like Sabrina the teenage witch's house. Or it might have been Grace under fire's house.

YY to Jimmy Perez's house in the Shetland series.
I dream of living in a stone cottage. With fireplaces though! And candles... and lots of snuggly blankets.

The house in House Sitter

You're alllllll wrong

Halliwell manor for town house (just don't go in the basement!)

And Emily's beach house from "revenge" - for the location and porch alone but gorgeous house anyway.

Love the film house sitter - not keen on the house. Too modern.

I live in the US midwest. All the houses are like the Home Alone house. They don't cost that much compared to the UK (or at least the SE where I'm from).

I have e 3 storey, 5 bed house with an acre of land. It's a fairly nice but normal family home.

I do get culture shock when I go home - like Alice in Wonderland, as if I've grown or everything's shrunk.

IsThisSeeSawTaken · 09/11/2018 05:35

Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment before she redecorated, and also the house from I Am Legend.

Dotte · 09/11/2018 06:34

The child in me today would vote for Bilbo Baggins house. I want to hide away from the works and hide indoors and sleep!

On any other day it would be Gloria and Jays house from Modern Family.

I like the house in 'The Christmas Bunny' and Santa's cottage in 'Santa Claus The Movie'- he's got a bed in a cupboard! Heaven

The Murder House from American Horror Story season 1.

The actual house is gorgeous, The Rosenheim Mansion.

MotherWol · 09/11/2018 11:03

Cameron's house from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. An open plan, midcentury minimalist house in the woods is my idea of heaven and DH's idea of hell with no clutter, Eames furniture, and someone else to keep those windows clean.

The beach house from Sleeping with the Enemy.

Amityville (from an angle where it doesn't look like eyes)

Or either Bree or Lynette's house from Desperate Housewives.

In one of the earlier episodes of "Wooly and Tig", Tig goes to play at a friends's house. The friend has several siblings and Tig is frightened of her Dad's beard.

I always liked that house. It seemed to have plenty of living space downstairs and enough bedrooms for all of the children.

WheredidtheMortificadosGo · 09/11/2018 14:33

The house from Dynasty (the original TV Series) wins. It is actually the Filoli mansion in the USA. But wow imagine living there.
