Getting a switch, when son has Xbox?

My 12yro son really wants a Nintendo switch for Xmas, but he’s already got an Xbox one S.
Is there any point in getting the switch too?

Well they're totally different machines. Mine has both, the switch is portable and the Xbox isn't.

You will get people coming on saying they're the work of the devil and he should sell his Xbox and shine shoes for change so he appreciates it though

He has an iPod too, so just not sure he’d gain much from the switch?

DS has both (bought his own switch from savings). He uses them both pretty equally. He can take his switch to friends' houses, grandparents, on car journeys etc which he can't with the X Box.

It's very different to an Ipod too (we have all three). I have to say the Switch very rarely gets used, the Xbox not that much either. DS almost exclusively uses his Ipod still instead, but it very much depends what games they are interested in.

My ds 13 has a switch and a PS4, both are totally different. A switch can be used as a handheld game as well as on the tv, making it very handy for long journeys or when we are away. My ds also saved and bought his switch himself, as a pp’s son did. They really aren’t comparable consoles.

It never ends, my DS has Xbox one, PS4 & high spec gaming PC. Just to warn you!

They’re three different things. If he likes gaming then he’ll use it.

We have a switch and an Xbox, they get used with equal regularity by the kids.

DH has both and a PS4. Apparently they’re all different
