Talk to me about visiting Bristol

I’m off for my very first baby-free weekend at the end of the month to Bristol! I am slightly excited.

Does anyone have any good tips for Airbnb’s, places to eat etc? I have been before but a long time ago and no idea where’s good to stay/what to do. Thanks!

The docks, harbour area is nice for a wander around. The Cathedral is lovely too and Cabots tower. Hope someone comes along with some local restaurant knowledge and that you have a great time.

The waterfront is beautiful, but of an evening over the weekend it will be full of drunks, definitely worth a daytime visit. Clifton village and Avon Gorge area near the suspension bridge are all really pretty, the Avon Gorge hotel has beautiful views and great for food & drinks.

Spoilt for choice really! Cabot circus is good for food & shopping. Waterfront is lovely but busy at weekend with drinkers like a pp said. Both Old Vic and Hippodrome theatres are easy walking distance from the waterfront.

Head over to Wapping wharf for nice places to eat. Both Root and Box-E are great.

For cocktails try Milk Thistle or Red light, but book a table for both to be on the safe side.

What sort of thing do you like for more recs?

Wapping Wharf is Harbourside but classier. Lovely atmosphere there at night. Book restaurants ahead of time as it can be difficult to get a reservation at weekends. Most of the places there are good.
