Periods are out of control

I'm falling apart, it would seem.
Since the beginning of the year, I've been having two periods a month. Generally two weeks apart.
Been to GP who just shrugged and offered the pill. When I protested that this can't be normal (and the fact that Im getting two lots of PMS a month, meaning I have roughly 5 "good" days a month) I was told "it's just the way it is"
I'm now on my third-yes, THIRD - period in 30days. I've had....8 whole days between this one and the last one.
I'm sick of PMS, cramps and generally feeling so exhausted I can't function.
I'm only in.my early 30s. I'm not trying to conceive. I'm just over it and want some answers .

So you didn't go on the pill? The pill might settle it. Sometimes the right thing is to treat the symptoms rather than hunt for the cause.

Are you up to date with your smear? I had a similar problem a couple of years ago with constant periods. They did do a smear test and send me for an ultrasound, but I got the impression they were only doing this as I've had LLETZ in the past. Ultimately I got no answer beyond 'it's probably hormones' and got put on the pill, which did help with my periods, but came with its own side effects!
