Is there a secret to replacing coin batteries in children's books?

Someone please help before I throw the lot out of the window

Is there a knack to getting the replacement coin battery flush in the compartment on the back of these electronic books that make sounds? DD has five of these books all given to her on her birthday which have all conked out in the past couple of weeks.

I've literally been on for half an hour trying to press the bloody things in and still the cover won't sit tightly on the battery compartment.

(This is all adding insult to injury on the discovery that each of these books requires THREE of these expensive little batteries each )

Please help

Argh! Scrap that. I've realised that the new batteries are slightly deeper than the old ones

I bought a load of LR44s on the basis that one of the books required that type but it turns out that between the 5 books, three different battery types are needed.

Silly me, silly books.
