Have any of you ever bought a thank you gift for your doctor? One of my doctors has been going above and beyond for me lately even staying behind for 2 hours after he was supposed to finish to ensure he could see to me (after seeing I was in a&e) he’s also carried about a few of my recent surgeries.

I want to buy him a little something, I know HCPs can only accept gifts worth less than £20

Has anyone done this before? If so what did you buy?

A lottery ticket, a card and chocolate.

Ah that’s a lovely idea. Not necessarily a gift idea but is there someone superior you could write to to say thank you about your dr eg consultant/ manager/ pals. Friend is a midwife and this type of thing is always valued.

You could also go on to careopinion.org and leave feedback- it's always great to hear when things are going well!

Yes take time to praise, it's the most valuable. Or find out his preferred charity & make a donation? The lottery ticket & card & chocs is good too.

My consultant is Muslim so I’m not sure if I can gift a lottery ticket, does anyone know where I wouldn’t stand on regards to their stance on gambling?

I’ve already wrote to pals, the department, their nhs page and on careopinion. I sound over the top but I’m beyond grateful.

It’s great you’ve already written op. What about a lovely potted rose? Lots of them have names which mean something eg thanks.

Orchidflower1 · 06/11/2018 21:57

Or if you’re a talented crafter something quality personalised eg vase/ planter.

Quiet13 · 06/11/2018 22:07

You could get a nice quality pen for £20ish?

NOTthepinkranger · 07/11/2018 04:45

Oh that hamper looks lovely!

Thank you for the suggestions
