Posting here for traffic. My 14 yr old DD has been on Epiduo for nearly 5 weeks. Prior to this she was on Differin for a couple of months. In this period her acne has changed from being mainly lots of under the skin bumps to red spots which can look quite inflamed and come to a head.
Her forehead seems to be clearing but she is still getting significant breakouts on her cheeks and other areas where she didn’t used to get acne. I’ve read that there is an initial breakout period and the retinoids work to bring all the gunk to the surface but how long should we give it? Not sure if the repeated breakouts mean that the cream is working or irritating and making things worse. I feel so bad for her as her acne was not this bad before starting this treatment and none of her friends suffer like this.
Has anyone had any experience of using Epiduo - can we be hopeful that it will start to work very soon?
