German exchange student - what to do?

Eeeeek. Someone dropped out of ds1's German exchange programme. So we now have a student coming to stay with us for a week from Thursday.

Obviously he will go to school with Ds1 every week day but I'm trying to think of something that will appeal to him on the weekend.

We are in the SE of England. On Sunday, we will go to Windsor Castle. They're going to London a couple of times in the week with the school so won't do that in case of overlap. There's a bonfire event on the Saturday night at my other dcs' school so we will go to that.

But what else? Help! Inspiration please.

How old? Bowling is always a good one...

I think it's important for them to experience ordinary home life as well as sightseeing. As you are doing a trip out on one day, on the other day I would have a traditional cooked breakfast or a roast dinner and then send them out to the swimming pool or whatever your DS usually does out with his mates that doesn't involve computer games.
When we had an exchange student, the teens organised a laser quest. That went down well.
