Calling all Fitbit users... can I really be burning this many calories?

I just got my first Fitbit today but I'm really shocked by the tally it's giving me for calories burned??

Can this be right? Surely not?

I've been way more lazy than normal and it's saying I've burned 2,243 kcals. I only started wearing it at 10am and have only walked 6,616 steps? Just want to make sure it's working correctly.

Thank you :)

I spent more time in the fat burning zone that day and even got a brisk walk in but my resting heart rate is much lower. On days when I'm hot or hormonal and my heart rate is higher, my calorie burn is higher, too.

And talking of bed, I need to address that lack of sleep.

I'll update tonight with my new stats. Hopefully they'll make a little more sense.

I think it may be set up a bit wrong. Double check all your goal and lifestyle details and if they're still correct I should take it back as defective

I'm about the same size and weight as you and I have to do over 20,000 steps to get over 2000 calories burnt. Currently have 6822 steps for today and have burnt 988 calories!

FitBitHelp · 06/11/2018 23:47

This seems a little more realistic? I think?

Anyone?

That seems more accurate. I’ve got 19,500 steps for yesterday and about 2,400 calories burnt.

I wouldn’t rely too much on the calories though. Fitbit are notorious for the calories burnt being on the high side.
