Help I've got a job interview ...

For a job I really want.

It's basically for the same job I do now so why am I so full of doubt.

My presentation gets more shit every time I look at it. I had prepped loads of answers for possible interview questions but to be honest would be amazed if I can remember my own name tomorrow!

I am really really shit at interviews (think panic attack in one once) and to top it off I feel so sick tonight.

Arrrrghh tell me some interview horrors to distract me please

Before the interview, just do some gentle breathing, Everything you practiced is still retained in your mind, as long s you breath gently, your mind and body will begin to relax and you will start to focus better. You have had this interview before for the other role, so there is nothing new. This job is yours, so be gentle with yourself

Relax, eye contact with the interviewers, smile. If it's a different company, do a little bit of research on the background of the company. Smile.

Sorry, don't know any interview horrors though!

If it’s for the same job interview I’m going to tomorrow don’t worry - I’m feeling exactly the same!

‘@nodramaforthellama’ how did you get on? Unfortunately I didn’t get the post but I’m the reserve but it’s actually been good for my confidence as they said my presentation & interview were very strong. Hopefully next time......

Ah I'm sorry to hear you didn't get it @MrsAmaretto but yes, interview experience is always good. Hopefully something comes up soon for you.

I find out tomorrow but tbh I don't think I've got it. It was a bit of a comedy of errors from the start. Forgot my cue cards for my presentation so had to wing it and ended up waffling on and talking far too fast. The exercise i had to do - I was under the impression we referred to that in the interview - so my answers were a bit all over the place, although I did get everything I needed to down. Unfortunately due to time limits and thinking I was referring to it not handing it in my handwriting was atrocious and I'll be surprised if they can read it! Think I answered the questions ok, but always leave thinking of all the really impressive stuff I could have said but didn't.

Bit disappointing as it's the same job I do now and if I can't even do an interview well for that I'm thinking there's little hope. None the less I have another interview for somewhere else Friday!

Fingers crossed you did better than you think and that Friday goes well!
