A blogger/influencer i really like has just compared the sound of fireworks

She lives in leafy north London.

Just no

They live in N London, what more can you expect South London here.

I just saw that on her stories, was a bit surprised she came out with that.

Saying fireworks sound like gunfire isn’t the same as saying being in North London is the same as being in Sarajevo.

She was comparing the sounds - it does sound like bloody gunfire here!!

I saw a similar thing on Facebook about a local charity fireworks evening. It was apparently upsetting her alpacas and was like being 'in a war zone'. Yup, a leafy, rural idyll with alpacas grazing in your 4 acres of land. Totally the same as Allepo...

I haven't read the post and she probably was posting in bad taste, but I moved towards England from Belfast towards the end of the Troubles, and I did spend my first few bonfire nights literally ducking and finding shelter before my conscious mind realised it was just fireworks.
