Your current personal goals?

Has anyone set themself a goal that they are in the middle of pursuing? I’m all about a personal goal right now and needing some tales of inspiration!

At the moment I am doing Couch 2 5k. I am in week 6 and I can’t believe how well it’s going and how much I’m enjoying it. I was as unfit as they come before this.

On the back of this I am doing Race at your Pace for this month. I am only 4.5 miles out of 25 done so a bit to go with that one.

Next I’m going to set myself a reading challenge because I cant remember the last time I picked up a book.

Any others?

I like the idea of personal goals but seem to be failing on all fronts. Stressful time at the moment. When I get sorted my top ones are going to be
Drink more water every day. I do t know why this is so difficult. I just want tea and coffee I guess.
Declutter and keep on top of housework better
Start writing regularly
The only goal I am acheiving just now is to read more but even then I'm not going to reach my 25 books this year target.

I'm doing couch to 5k too. I like the fact it is telling me what to do! I'm perfectly capable of running 5k as I play sport but I'm a lazy ass and need Michael Johnston's encouragement.
My personal goal was to get back to being me after having 4 DC. I wanted them to see that I am capable of more than just doing the washing and cooking the dinner (not that I think those are not very worthy tasks and in no way a reflection of others choices).
I have just completed a masters and I am about to start a PhD in a subject I love. I feel like I am getting there.
I still need to lose some weight and get a better balance in life but those are definitely a work in progress.
Good work on your running. Exercise is so beneficial in so many ways.

When I was 50 I set myself the goal of doing a Supersprint Triathlon (littlest one) every year until I was 60. I am now 55 and have, indeed, completed 5 of them and am booked up for number 6 in June.

In order to achieve this goal I set myself further goals but aim for longevity of the action rather than getting faster, further or better. So I run 5km twice a week, swim 50 lengths once a week and since this January I set myself the goal of resistance weight training twice a week as well (at home with weights from Aldi). I will add cycling once a week into the mix from April onwards. I also walk every day.

I have a routine for all this which I am quite happy to break for weekends away, hangovers, etc but always get back to it.

I keep my eye on the main goal and, at the moment, I have a battle with cancer to get through and the thought of getting to my Triathlon in June is keeping me to my exercise routine.

Good luck with your goal, OP. Hope it becomes a lovey habit for you.

I've signed up for a half marathon in March, and am currently aiming to be running 10k comfortably by Christmas. (Lots of work needed for this.)
