Where can I buy a beautiful faux fur pom pom that's definitely faux?

I want a really nice big fluffy pom pom to put on my riding hat, but the thought of inadvertently buying one that is actually made from real fur makes me shudder. I am aware that a large percentage sold as faux fur are in fact real. I am also aware that a lot of faux fur ones are a bit shit and that real fur looks much nicer.

I don't want a cheapy one that gets all matted, I want one that will stay looking gorgeous - does such a thing exist as faux fur that is genuinely as good, or nearly as good, as real fur?

There's advice online about how to tell real fur from fake, just Google it. Something like part the fur, if it's fake it will be stiched together. If it's real it will be attached to the skin.

Exactly what singing said. Examine the base of it too see if there is skin from the animal.

Tissavel faux fur is absolutely beautiful. I had a gorgeous vintage wrap which was ruined beyond repair when it was splashed with red wine at a party and I still mourn it. A quick google suggests that you can find Tissavel pom poms.
