I’m hoping to rehome a ferret.
What will the homecheck be looking for?

They checked my home was safe for cats, I had to show I wouldn’t let them out on the balcony. And they asked how I would feed them, how long they would be left alone and that I had a vet lined up etc

If it's a dog they check your garden is secure. 6ft high fences if it's an active breed such as a husky. They will make sure you have enough space and it's a good environment for that size dog. Expect questions about where it will sleep, how long it will be alone etc x

So for a ferret I imagine it’ll be making sure it has suitable housing and that the house is safe for when it comes in.

We had a home check for a guinea pig, he basically came in, asked where the piggy would be housed and whether he would have alone or have a mate and that was it. Should be pretty similar for a ferret I imagine.
