How to request a full disclosure of information?

I have had the misfortune of having a courtesy car for over 19 weeks now. I would like to see every piece of information the dealership has in relation to my account in the hope it'll help my case as I imagine it's full of mistakes!

Is this possible?

And if so how do I go about it please?

They have just sent me unauthorised information about another customer instead of my own, they truly amaze me

Can you make an application under Subject Access and they have to respond in a given time frame. I respond to these at work and i dont think it just applies to my sector.

Thanks for the reply! How do I go about this please? Would you recommend I contact the dealership or their head office?

ask them to disclose all information under a request under the Freedom of Information Act relating to your vehicle/account.

Giantbanger · 05/11/2018 15:25

Freedom of Information only applies to government bodies or bodies which are otherwise deemed to be public.

Car dealership is Subject Access Request under GDPR.

you could also report them to the ICO for a data protection breach since they sent someone else's details to you.

Good luck.

ShalomJackie · 05/11/2018 15:27

oops sorry

Northernmum100 · 05/11/2018 15:43

This should help ico.org.uk/your-data-matters/your-right-of-access/

Also ask for a copy of their GDPR policy and I think they are obligated to report their breach to the Information Comissioner.

Good luck, hope you get sorted.

Great info, thank you! I've reported them to the ICO it was surprisingly quick and easy. Going to try find a way to contact the dealerships head office and set the ball rolling

Managed to get the request to the Operations director's PA, she hasn't heard of a subject access request so is going to look into it and get back to me. Apparently tonight but rarely anybody from this dealership in the past 19 weeks has ever rung back! 😄 can't believe this is even happening really
