Yellow skin

About 4 years ago people began noticing my hands were quite yellow. I also then noticed my whole body had a yellow tinge to it. I went to the doc and he took bloods, came back fine, so he referred me to a dermatologist, who I felt really wasn't the appropriate specialist. He thought I may be eating too many foods with carotene or my body wasn't processing it correctly. I definitely don't eat a lot of carotene-based foods but cut back a little anyhow. However, the problem remains! Has anyone experienced this?

My husband has Gilbert syndrome and can look quite yellow sometimes, usually when he is run down. Would have thought a blood test would pick it up though.

Have they done an ultrasound of your liver? DH’s bloods for liver levels were still coming back normal when he started yellowing. He had liver disease and it was picked up on an ultrasound in the end and showed in bloods a while after.

How are your eyes do they have a yellow tinge to the whites, my husband had hemochromotosis, his liver retains too much iron and he has a slight yellow tinge. This was discovered through blood tests
