Any physios or chiropractors around?

My son is aged 10 and is constantly moving his neck as though he's uncomfortable. He says he feels as though his neck is stuck in the position for looking down and feels tight and uncomfortable as though he needs to click it. He used to also get episodes of intense heat and pain lasting a few seconds on his neck which I reported to a GP who referred us to the hospital. The consultant said he couldn't find a cause and we were referred to a paed physio who looked a bit Confused and just said it was where he was growing. I can't help but think treatment could help. Is it worth me pursuing? We've got a private clinic near us so I am thinking of paying for a few sessions. Would they manipulate his neck or try and find the cause? Should I go for a physio and chiropractor?

Sorry - am neither, but I'd pay your GO visit. If it's a Health Centre (with lots of GP's) I'd ask for a GP with a special interest in muscular-skeletal.

NHS physio is generally awful. You'll get an exercise sheet and that's about it.

I find this video really helpful for easing the neck muscles (and that constant need to click). It's only three minutes long so he could try it twice a day to see if it helps:

Thank you. That video if helpful. I'll get him to do those at bed time. I not when we're watching TV.. He moves his head the whole time.

A chiro should be able to treat him. I'd ring around tomorrow and see who can have a look

What the hell is going on with my typing. I'm not drunk I promise. That was meant to say : that video is helpful...... I notice when we're watching TV. I could do without spending ££ at the moment so I'll try the exercises.
