Ds 10, Dd 12 don't get pocket money but we pay for all activities, everything they need with occasional treats. They help around house as asked ie putting washing away etc but thinking we need to do a better arrangement where as they get money but have to do more on way of helping as both have busy hobbies and I'm constantly running around.
Just wondered what other her people do ?

At that age mine got pocket money, not linked to chores though. My feeling is we all live in the house, we all mess it up, and we all clean it. Saturday mornings they had to sweep, hoover, tidy their rooms and dust.

My DD11 gets a standing order into her bank account on condition that she dusts radiators, dusts shelves and empties the dishwasher twice. Any jobs not done means I reduce her standing order. Any extra help given willingly means I increase her standing order.
I pay for her phone which is only a fiver a month and a magazine of her choice. She has a standing order going to her own savings account and what's left is hers to spend as she chooses.
