What red wine to give as a thank you gift?

Want to get a thank you gift for someone, been told the recipient loves red wine.

I'm no wine expert...could anyone please recommend a decent red wine?

Malbec or Rioja tend to be widely liked

Depends on your budget.

I’d be delighted with a Tignanello, but a good Cabernet can be found for £10 - £15.

I think that a merlot would maybe fit the bill?
My actual personal preference tho would be Barolo, but I''m a red wine drinker and love it.

Crozes Hermitage or Chateauneuf du Pape

I love a malbec .. although chateau neuf du pape is quite popular if you want to splash out .. a malbec is a great wine for a good budget

Chateauneuf du Pape or a decent Pinot Noir? At the moment you can get them at a fairly reasonable price in places they're on offer, but everything's about to be full price as Christmas approaches.

Chateau neuf du pape as mentioned above, or Sancerre rouge is gorgeous too.

A good Argentinan Malbec. Around the £8-12 mark.

I always go for a Chateau de pap for gift.
