Has our babysitter...

...eaten all the sugar? Our babysitter was round at ours looking after DS. I said the usual ”help yourself to food” and also left money for a pizza or whatever she wanted to get. She invited her sister round for company (not a problem, her sister is lovely). We got home and I think they had done their own thing and bought food, but when I went to get a spoon of sugar for porridge today most of it had gone from the packet - we don't use it all that much and I had just replenished for visitors last week. It's not normal granulated sugar, it's the sort of pale brown stuff you get in cafes for coffee, iyswim.

I'd love to know what on earth she used it for, but there really isn't a non-awkward way to ask, is there? Also I got it by accident rather than soft brown sugar so should I just be grateful that it is gone?

Check her teeth next time she visits...if they're rotten you'll know she ate it all Grin

I expect it got spilled

Ooh how weird. I agree, accidentally knocking it over sounds pretty plausible. How much was there left, was it an amount someone could feasibly have eaten? Maybe whatever food they sorted out for themselves needed sugar? Or they drank 900 cups of v sweet tea?
