Just wondered if you tip the hairdresser when you get your hair cut or coloured at a hair salon and roughly how much?

My haircuts cost £22 and I tip a fiver on top.

MissConductUS · 03/11/2018 16:23

$10 unless I'm really unhappy about it.

£5 for a cut, £10 for a colour

My salon has a box for tips which are shared out amongst all the staff. I usually give an extra €5 for a cut or €10 If I'm getting highlights done.

I don't tip anything. My cut and colour is usually £130.

I never tip anywhere

CMOTDibbler · 07/11/2018 15:41

I don't tip at the hairdressers or when having my nails done. I don't tip the plumber or the garage

Muffin17 · 07/11/2018 15:44

Tip £3-£5 depending on if it's just cut or colour too.

Don't tip at all if they don't offer me a drink or are more than 10 mins late

I feel awful now, I've just had my hair cut for the first time in forever (I used clippers myself before) and it was £30, I never even thought to tip! Is it really normal to tip? I might have to pop back - I only got home an hour ago...

Aroundtheworldandback · 17/06/2019 13:53

My cut & colour is £180, kills me to have to give on top of that but usually give £15/20
