DP says he is not fussed and I'm off to asda to get our bird for a roast for tomorrow so I'm leaving it up to the MN jury Smile.

What's your favourite? Beef? Pork? Chicken? Gammon? Grin

lamb

JingsMahBucket · 03/11/2018 21:27

I'm surprised how many votes for lamb there are. I love the stuff and choose it in regular restaurants most of the time but I heard on the BBC sometime last year that consumption was significantly down amongst 30-something year olds. Different lamb farmers were doing a campaign to show people that lamb can be a weeknight meal and not just a Sunday roast type of meat by sharing quick recipes, mince lamb recipes, etc.

fieldgold · 03/11/2018 21:36

Poor little lambs.

To me lamb is the most greasy meat on the planet. And then they die.

I could eat lamb everyday but it's so expensive!

BrokeLuce · 03/11/2018 21:47

Pork but I have no idea how to cook it myself. I used to live near an amazing pub/hotel in Oxfordshire, their roast pork was unbelievable. I'm in Kent now and DH has offered to drive me back for a Sunday treat it was that good.

amusedbush · 03/11/2018 21:56

Always roast pork! And I’m another who has Yorkshire puddings with every roast Grin

Last time I did a pork loin I sat it on shallots and apple wedges then added some cider. I made gravy with some of the porky cider too. I’m trying to convince DH to have it for Christmas dinner, it was so good!

Rare beef or lamb

CakeNinja · 03/11/2018 22:03

Beef. Always beef.
A nice forefib joint, served rare for me, with Yorkshire’s.
I often think I could happily only eat beef for every meal for the rest of my life Grin
We have got wagyu steaks tonight if dp will ever finish bloody cooking Angry

Budgieinaberet · 03/11/2018 22:05

MrsJayy · 03/11/2018 22:05

MrsJayy · 03/11/2018 22:07

Although i am having roast chicken tomorrow probably with a yorkshire pudding.

Pebblespony · 03/11/2018 22:08

Lamb.
I've never cooked a Yorkshire pudding in my life. Not a thing in my family (Ireland).

MrsJayy · 03/11/2018 22:10

I buy frozen yorkshires Blush

HistoriaTrixie · 03/11/2018 22:38

Roast beef, with turkey a close second. Would be lamb first but it's hideously expensive here.

Budgieinaberet · 03/11/2018 23:37

Me too MrsJ. I'm having frozen yorkshires with chicken

And bread sauce Smile

OP asked what our 'favourite' is, not 'what we can afford to buy' / 'will be buying in our next shop' Wink
