DP says he is not fussed and I'm off to asda to get our bird for a roast for tomorrow so I'm leaving it up to the MN jury Smile.

What's your favourite? Beef? Pork? Chicken? Gammon? Grin

Chicken for me, with a lovely chickeny gravy and parsnips roast with the potatoes in goose fat. Maybe some homemade stuffing if I have bread to use up. I love sprouts with it. So basically a mini Christmas dinner!

Meet0nTheIedge · 03/11/2018 17:24

Beef, with Yorkshire pudding (ideally served first as a starter), horse-radish sauce and a dish of sliced onions and cucumber in vinegar. Plus roasties, gravy and veg of course.

formerbabe · 03/11/2018 17:36

In this order...

Lamb
Beef
Pork
Chicken

YouBoggleMyMind · 03/11/2018 17:37

Lamb 😍

Urbanbeetler · 03/11/2018 17:38

Sliced onions and cucumber? That sounds a bit - different. Is it a regional variety or just a family thing?

Meet0nTheIedge · 03/11/2018 17:40

It's family tradition from my Yorkshire grandparents, not sure if its regional as well (we live a long way from there and have for all my life). It's a match made in heaven, unlikely as it seems.

confusedandemployed · 03/11/2018 17:41

Lamb. Mmmmmmm.

Urbanbeetler · 03/11/2018 17:42

I will try it next time. Raw onions, right?

BackforGood · 03/11/2018 17:42

A Lovely leg of lamb. No question.

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/11/2018 17:42

Beef or Duck.

Flowerpower321 · 03/11/2018 17:43

Very rare venison every time

shecamefromgreece · 03/11/2018 17:45

By order of preference
Slow roasted leg of lamb
Beef
Pork
Chicken

Dh would swap round the pork and chicken.

ClemDanFango · 03/11/2018 17:48

Roast beef with mustard and Yorkshire pud with crispy roasties and lashings of rich beefy gravy 😋😋😋😋

Meet0nTheIedge · 03/11/2018 20:07

Yes, raw onions, I use red ones, very finely sliced, with cucumber, put in a bowl of vinegar for an hour or so before eating. I use malt vinegar.

Urbanbeetler · 03/11/2018 20:10

It’s not that far off the Berlin and onion you might have in a burger.

LockedOutOfMN · 03/11/2018 20:11

Beef is best!
Trimmings must include homemade Yorkshire pudding, Paxo sage and onion, and roast parsnips.

Urbanbeetler · 03/11/2018 20:11

Berlin?? Gherkin!

WorraLiberty · 03/11/2018 20:11

Lamb

Iloveacurry · 03/11/2018 20:12

Lamb, but only when it’s on offer. If not, chicken.

poorbuthappy · 03/11/2018 20:16

Beef. Rare. Proper bloody. With cheesy leeks.

hmmwhatatodo · 03/11/2018 20:29

Lamb. I seem incapable of roasting beef. It turns out dry every single time.

bluechameleon · 03/11/2018 20:41

I like lamb for the actual meat, but pork you get crackling and apple sauce so pork edges it. If I'm cooking it at home though I always do chicken because DS1 will eat it and the leftovers are more useful.
