Upper body/core excercise I can do while recovering from ankle surgery

I’ve had metal work taken out of my ankle and so I need to rest my leg/not put pressure on that leg.

I’m used to being very active- running walking hiit excercises and being stuck with my leg up is driving me crazy!!

Any ideas of upper body/core excercises I can do that won’t put stress on my leg. I’d love to be able to work out a bit. Would be great for my mind!

How about some Pilates exercises. Roll back and teaser? Look at
YouTube

My mum is in hospital on bed rest with a broken leg. The physio gave her some giant rubber strips, tied to the bed for resistance. You can get them on Amazon.
Also, years ago, there was a fashion for resistance exercises supposedly used by the Marines. You use your own strength as resistance for example making prayer hands and pushing them together for a count of 10...? There may be something on Google, sorry I can’t look I need to rush out (and should be finding my shoes...)

Thanks all! I did some fitness blender- arm weights while seated the core (no planks) Russian twists etc. I’ll look into those resistance bands! Feel so much better for having done something!
