Period 12 days PP? Or not possible...

I'm 12 days PP and up until yesterday my bleeding had tailed off (has been brown, not red for days and days now). Woke up 20 mins ago to find lots of bright red blood and a clot. Smells like period blood but I guess that doesn't mean it definitely is.

I'm ebf but had to formula feed for 6 days.

Do I need to get this new bright red blood checked out? It's unlikely to be a menstrual period isn't it?

They all seemed to think it should stop within 14 days

6 weeks for me every time, and I was told that was normal.

However, I was told that any clots after a spell of no clotting should be reported, and any red blood after a spell of brown ditto.

I passed a really large clot right after returning home with DD2 (up two flights of stairs carrying DD2 while exH wrangled the other two DCs and the carseat, and I called about it. They were very concerned, told me to go to bed immediately

You have to be careful when you are passing clots, and also if there is any gushing.

Quite honestly, I would phone your unit today and report what is going on.
