BYOB etiquette when staying in posh hotels

I'm meeting my lovely friend at a spa hotel for the weekend and we're planning to have some wine and a good old catch up in our room on an evening.

I've stashed a couple of bottles of bubbly in my car, but I'm wondering whether it's frowned upon to request an ice bucket and some flutes once we're there? It feels a bit cheeky!

Would you? WineGrin

Absolutely, do it all the time. We also bring our own favourite snacks :)

Asking for an ice bucket is fine but some hotels do frown upon it and use a room tray charge so you get a cover charge of say £10 for it. I tend to order one bottle from room service then break into my stash!

If the spa hotel is a very well known one in Leicestershire i reckon it will be absolutely fine.
Or do as someone upthread suggests and order a 1/2 bottle of prosecco at the same time. Grin

Stash! You sound like a girl after my own heart, KatesMott!

It might actually be 5 bottles in my boot... 😂

Thanks all - I'm going to brazen it out x
