Changed DS (7weeks) dirty nappy in Costa - was in a massive rush so forgot to handsan
Came home, DS asleep so i rab he opportunity to grab some bits for lunch (stuff to eat with hands)
Half way through eating I realise I didn't wash my hands before i got lunch ready.
I feel grim!!!!

My toddler DD threw up in my mouth a few weeks ago and i’m still alive, so don’t worry!

Nissemand · 02/11/2018 12:34

I think you'll be surprised at the number of people who just don't wash their hands after changing a baby, especially a tiny one.

Mississippilessly · 02/11/2018 12:37

But its POO?!
Bleurgh. I want to give my insides a good scrub!

A baby that young you could probably eat its poo on a sandwich and not be ill. Its just recycled milk!!

bittertreats · 02/11/2018 12:46

Oh wow, over the years I've probably collectively ingested an entire shit.

One Time DC splashed their heels into the most horrific diarrhoea nappy I've ever witnessed. All. Over. My. face. Hair. And the wall.

And when my youngest was weeks old, managed to shoot a poop at my upper body when I lifted legs to pop a fresh nappy under. 😂

You'll be fine. If you've ever mouth breathed a fart you've had some poop on your tongue 💩

Mississippilessly · 02/11/2018 12:47

bitter i am irrationally amused at the word 'splashed' in conjunction with poo!

You'll be fine. I'm sure many parents have done this by accident, I definitley have a few times. It's your own baby's poo, calm down.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 02/11/2018 12:49

I'd say a good few decades!

GummyGoddess · 02/11/2018 12:50

It's not like he's started weaning yet, his gut is unlikely to have anything in it that could harm you. Although rotavirus immunisation is due soon so you would definitely regret the lack of hand washing then!

I'm sure most people have accidentally done it without thinking, been distracted or in a rush like you were.

GrandmaSharksDentures · 02/11/2018 12:56

I give you till 1pm, that's about 7 mins from now...!

kaytee87 · 02/11/2018 13:08

Still alive op?

By the time your baby is a toddler you'll have had all manner of disgusting things on you.

Mississippilessly · 02/11/2018 13:12

I am still alive!
I do however really want tea and a brownie but he is asleep on me and i dont want to disturb him. Rats.

Just sniff his head instead might have once licked my sons head when he was newborn

Rebecca36 · 02/11/2018 13:24

If you're still around tomorrow please do post and let us know.
Make your will tonight and put on a clean nightie.
[fllowers] x several :-).

Whatsnewpussyhat · 02/11/2018 13:24

Wait til you get sick, shit and snot all at the same time.
Keep a small bottle of anti bac gel in nappy bag.

Flower777 · 02/11/2018 13:40

I wouldn’t be bothered by the nappy especially but the toilets in Costa are likely a bit grim.

DumptonPark · 02/11/2018 13:41

On a night out years ago I found an unconscious man and whilst putting him in the recovery position I got his sick on my hands. After he went off in an ambulance I went back to the pub for a stiff drink (I'd already had several). I spilt a bit of drink on my hand and licked it off my fingers. I only remembered that I hadn't washed my hands when I tasted the sweet/cheesy taste of sick in my mouth.

Neshoma · 02/11/2018 13:46

I think your title is inappropriate. There are terminally ill MNetters on here!

Mississippilessly · 04/11/2018 19:38

Dumpton well done for being such a good samaritan. Your story made me feel quite ill!!
