Our cat is missing

So worried, it’s freezing outside.Sad
He was here at 8am yesterday, I had run out of sachets so he only had nuts, so obviously he scooted out the flap and went straight to the neighbours claiming starvation.
But he hasn’t been seen since. Neighbour has checked garage.
Going to go around the houses near us this am and ask people to check sheds etc.
Keep your fingers crossed Mumsnet, he is such a lovely puss. We only have him 16months, from cats home. He was so delighted with himself being spoiled rotten, don’t think he had ever had much affection before. Sniff...

Empty the contents of your hoover bag onto the patio, they can smell home then.

Ring the local vets and put it on your local face book page, is he microchipped with up to date details?.

EleanorLavish · 02/11/2018 08:28

Yes, Microchipped.

There's local FB lost pets pages. I'm not a FB fan, but I was impressed when one of my Dd's cats went missing in June. 'In your area' has a lost pets section . Check it out.
Hope things turn out well?

Hang rugs or unwashed clothes on the line and another vote for the hoover trick. Get on Facebook lost pets. Good luck op. My mums cat was gone for a week but came home.

Thank you, will follow advice up.
He did get locked in a neighbours shed before (nosey Parker!).

That’s wonderful news! Is he ok?

ScreamingValenta · 02/11/2018 22:22

Great news!

EleanorLavish · 02/11/2018 22:46

DH went around local houses leaving note that asked if they could check sheds etc.
5 mins after he returned home in walked the cat! Dishevelled, dirty and starving, but so glad to have him back. He was obviously locked in somewhere.

That shows the wisdom of the oft-quoted advice to check outbuildings. I hope he's tucking into something tasty now.

VenusClapTrap · 03/11/2018 07:23

Great news! What a relief.

Yoksha · 03/11/2018 08:34

I'm so relieved. Thanks for update OP.

Great news. I can't count the number of times mine have disappeared over the years, and after asking neighbours to check sheds etc, within 10 minutes they turn up.
It's usually weekends and bank holidays too. Daft creatures.🙄
