Nut allergists beware

My DS just opened a Mars bar wrapper and it had a Snickers inside! Not wanting to be alarmist, but if you were allergic to peanuts, that could be really dangerous.

Just thought I should share this.

Bloody hell that's absolutely terrifying. Thank you for posting this thread.

Have you phoned their customer services to report it? It's really important that they're informed as soon as possible.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 02/11/2018 05:32

You need to get onto them so they could do a recall

TheMythicalChicken · 02/11/2018 06:21

It’s late here (not in the UK) but I’ll try to find a number.

Keep the wrapper. There will be contact numbers or other means to contact them on it as well as identifying batch numbers. They’ll need that to track when the batch was made, where it went etc.

bloody hell!

It would be v helpful if you could put the country of where you are.

Whilst I can see exactly how this has aoocured in manufacturing, it’s rare in the U.K. other countries when Mars produce might not have the same rigourous procedures (even though they really should)
If you’re not eating a U.K. product, the U.K. won’t be affected. I know it’s a real problem for you right now, but don’t scare everyone!

Thanks for posting

Omgineedanamechange · 02/11/2018 06:55

They need to do a full recall for that

seanceinterrupted · 02/11/2018 07:32

Thanks for posting OP. No mars here, so a replacement cake instead Cake

For hose reading, I've bought oat:raisin cookies in Tesco bakery before that were mislabelled and were actually nut and choc chip. Easy to see, if you bothered to look but easy to miss if you were eating them without inspecting first. I took them back to complain and was treated as though I was trying to hide an insect in my salad. Started to storm off, completely wound up, then stamped back to the shelf and discovered some more still for sale, mislabelled. They believed me then.

TheMythicalChicken · 02/11/2018 08:34

It’s most bizarre. The ‘Mars’ came from a bag of Mars (fun size). I have checked and none of the others that are left are Snickers in disguise. And DS said he had a couple before and they were fine. It was just that one.

At the risk of looking very foolish, I am wondering if DS was mistaken.

I think it's still better to report it to Mars. I'd give your DS the benefit of the doubt as I would have thought he knows the difference between the two. It's not something I can imagine he would think of if it hadn't happened.
