Hybrid mattress or spring mattress with separate topper

I like the feel of the hybrid mattresses with memory foam included on top but I am worried by reviews that say they begin to sag quite quickly. Can anyone recommend one that won’t or are we better to go for a normal mattress with a separate topper if we need it (& could replace more cheaply & regularly if needed)

Budget of £500 but we want it to last 10 years not just a couple!

Thanks

For that budget (is that double or king size?) you'd be better off with a decent spring mattress and separate topper (if you find you need it). Cheap memory foam is just awful.

As above!

Pocket sprung with a memory foam layer on top is good, & you could add a topper as well (though IME that means none of your sheets fit any more Grin)

Thanks - it’s double. I think we’ve been taken in by the initial so comfy feeling when you lie on the hybrid ones in the shop but to be honest I’ve never found our normal sprung mattress we have not uncomfortable (until a spring literally stuck out after 15 years!) We likes the firm Hyde & sleep & simba(?) ones we tried
