Really nice reed diffusers budget £30 max?

I bought my friend a white lavender reed diffuser from the White Company. It smelled gorgeous and she loved it but nearly half the bottle had evaporated within a month. Took it back and exchanged it for another one and the same thing has happened again. It’s in a cool room and not by an open window etc. Am going to return it again but thinking of getting a refund and starting again elsewhere. Any recommendations for a longer lasting one with a noticeable smell and which costs around £20-30.

Next! I've got a spa retreat one and it smells beautiful. I bought my mum an Antigua one from there and it lasted a year. They come in beautiful bottles too.

St Eval.

The nicest I have spelled for a long time are the Aldi Jo Malone dupes. Not what you want- but useful information!

MissBattleaxe · 01/11/2018 13:27

Crabtree and Evelyn did a lovely one called White Cardamom last year. They might do it this year if you have a look. The smell was gorgeous.

Davespecifico · 01/11/2018 13:27

TK MAXX. Check them all.carefully. done are very good bargains.

MissBattleaxe · 01/11/2018 13:32

There's a place in Reading called HUMOS and they use pure essential oils in theirs so might last longer. You can buy online too. I think they fit your budget.

OverByYer · 01/11/2018 13:34

This is gorgeous

But like White Stuff probably doesn’t last as long as I’d like. You can buy in M&S

Nanasueathome · 01/11/2018 13:39

I like Daylesford
They have a special offer on their reed diffusers at the moment, reduced from £49 to £30

The Aldi JM dupes made my headache

Heuschrecke · 01/11/2018 13:43

John Lewis/Waitrose do some nice ones, as do L'Occitane

CakeNinja · 01/11/2018 13:46

Aldi diffusers are horrible (ime) but the candles I’ve tried have been brilliant.
On a side note, how long do you think reed diffusers should last for? Not even half in a month means it would last over 2 months!
My JM ones last about 3 - liquid does evaporate Grin

Magicstar1 · 01/11/2018 13:51

I got a gorgeous Rituals one last year. It's lasted 8 months so far.

eurochick · 01/11/2018 13:51

I'm also a bit baffled as to why you seem to think there is something wrong with a liquid product that evaporates...

John Lewis always has a nice selection.

Toomuchgoingon · 01/11/2018 14:00

Branche D'Olive sell lovely ones.

SushiMonster · 01/11/2018 15:22

I can’t belive they exchange it!

Two months is an ok length of time for a reed diffuser to last you know! The whole point is the reeds wick the liquid out and it evaporates 😂

justpaintit · 01/11/2018 15:24

Thanks so much for all these recommendations. I’m going into town soon so will start with Next and John Lewis.

I know that the liquid will evaporate but the speed the White Company one’s go down is unlike any other I’ve seen. When I asked the assistant how long they could be expected to last in the right conditions and she said about 12 weeks. Well this latest one is over half way gone in a month. For the price I’d expect a bit more enjoyment before it disappears.

And as other PPs have said, some last 8 months +

The Zara Home ones are lovely and the smell fills the whole house. I especially love the black vanilla one.

John Lewis. Frosted Spruce. Lovely. Stock up at Xmas as I haven't seen them outside the festive season.
A friend also uses this, I recognised straight away. Smells a bit like some expensive aftershave

CakeNinja · 01/11/2018 15:37

I can’t believe they exchanged it either! Mind you, I had a friend who returned a pair of the cheapest value jeans to Tesco’s years ago because after 3 years one of the hems was coming down Confused I suppose shops are just used to this sort of thing.
I had a gorgeous Rituals one and it lasted about 6 weeks I think, but my house is very warm.

dogzdinner · 01/11/2018 15:43

Fired Earth ones are nice, I think they have them in Waitrose and John Lewis for a sniff test.

IMissGin · 01/11/2018 15:46

So if you don’t return this one you’ll have had the expected 12 weeks enjoyment? I’d be amazed if the refund.

As an aside I like white company (unhelpful), Milton brown, Marks & Spencer and I’ve just ordered an espa one

User1983 · 01/11/2018 15:49

Anything by Max Benjamin. They are my favourite.

justpaintit · 01/11/2018 15:53

No if this one isn’t returne and over half has gone in just less than a month there’s no way my friend is going to have it another 8 weeks.

I’ve got a really cheapo one from Sainsbury’s that hasn’t gone down as much as hers and I can’t even remember how long I’ve had it. It must be coming up a year. I wanted to treat her to something special.
